Zoom-in and zoom-out the text size in CHM freely

CHM is a widely popular format due to its simplicity, size, performance and speedy search capability. Unfortunately official CHM reader in windows doesn't offer control over the text size after IE7. It can be torturous and straining to read ant-like text in high resolution screen.

As we know, the official CHM reader is uses IE core to load and display the page. With Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later you can make Web pages easier to read by magnifying the page (zooming in). If you zoom in, everything on the Web page will be magnified (including text, images, and controls). Zooming will change the magnification of the Web site, regardless of the Web site's formatting. So does the official CHM reader offer the page zoom feature? Unfortunately it does not.

Still, hope is not lost. There is a plug-in which adds the full page zoom functionality for CHM. That's ChmZoomer. You can download the latest version from http://www.goldgingko.com/chmzoomer

After launched ChmZoomer, it adds full page zoom functionality automatically for official CHM reader and all browser-based applications by default. When you open a CHM file, you will get a message "Full page zoom functionality is added to this browser [hh.exe] by ChmZoomer" from ChmZoomer. So you can use the short key to zoom-in and zoom-out the text size in CHM freely. The shortcut keys are the same as IE and Firefox. Press [CTRL +] or [CTRL Mouse wheel up] to zoom in. Press [CTRL -] or [CTRL Mouse wheel down] to zoom out. Reset zoom to 100% with Ctrl-0.

After using ChmZoomer, it just ended my eyes pain.
